The Global Payroll Management Institute (GPMI) has created a new award program, the Global Payroll Titan Award, sponsored by Neeyamo.

In conjunction with Global Payroll Week, 27 April-1 May, the award intends to identify outstanding payroll professionals working in the global payroll industry and to increase exposure to the profession.

“A Global Payroll Titan is a professional who demonstrates measurable positive effects for their organization, their commitment to the global payroll industry, and their innovative approach to global payroll issues,” said Brandy Gaskins, Assistant Manager of Public Relations for GPMI and the American Payroll Association. “It is a great way to increase their reputation and recognition among the payroll and global payroll professions.”

The Global Payroll Titan Award recipient will receive free education from GPMI, a special citation, a digital badge to include on their LinkedIn profile, and an annotation for their email signature.

Gaskins said the new award program is the brainchild and collaborative effort of the GPMI team, with input from various departments.

“This award will celebrate, empower, and recognize the outstanding professionals working in the global payroll industry who tackle the complex job of processing payroll in multiple countries,” Gaskins said. “It’s also a perfect way to kick off GPMI’s five-year anniversary in February.”

Nomination, Voting Process

Any professional working in global payroll can be nominated or self-nominated for the Global Payroll Titan Award.

In order to be nominated, a global payroll professional must:

• Have a minimum of three years of payroll processing experience
• Have a minimum of two years of processing payroll globally and/or supporting payroll in at least three different countries
• Be 18 years of age or older

Beginning 13 February, the nomination form will be open to the public on Global Payroll Week’s homepage. Nominations close on 13 March.

Determining the Winner

Once the nomination process closes, nominees for the award will be scored via a “people’s choice” popular vote and a peer review panel of GPMI judges. The nominee to receive the highest overall score will be deemed the winner.

“People’s choice” voting will be open to the public 1-14 April. The public can vote daily for their preferred nominee.

For the peer review panel, nominees will be judged by a panel of payroll professionals selected by GPMI on the following criteria:

• Demonstrating high standards of professionalism
• Outstanding or innovative approach to payroll on a multinational scale
• Evidence of continued commitment to the global payroll industry
• Evidence of giving back to the profession either within their own organization or through membership or participation with an organization representing payroll

The Global Payroll Titan Award recipient will be announced during Global Payroll Week.
